Osric Chau is a Canadian actor best known for his roles as Kevin Tran in Supernatural, Vogel in Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency and Ryan Choi in the Arrowverse. Whilst acting become a focal point later on, Chau’s attention was set towards the study of martial arts for a number of years, partly due to his parents’ influence. Becoming well trained in Wing Chun, Tai Chi and traditional forms of Wushu, Chau set the foundations for a career in entertainment. Initially wanting to become a stuntman rather than an actor, Chau worked on a series of projects with EA Games before appearing in his first major role as Lang Han in the two-part television movie Kung Fu Killer in 2008. The following year, Chau found his feature film debut as the supporting character in the science fiction disaster film 2012. By 2012, Chau had become a well-known and versatile actor in the industry, set to appear in two studio films within the year. Landing the role of Peng in the Paramount Pictures comedy, Fun Size, and a supporting role in Universal Pictures, The Man with the Iron Fists, it was not surprising that Chau was soon thrust into the global spotlight. In late 2012, Chau was announced to star in the CW Network’s acclaimed television series, Supernatural, portraying Kevin Tran. One of the more memorable characters in the show and certainly a pivotal role in his career, Chau continued to work on the series for another three seasons. Other notable roles include those from The 100, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders and his recurring character of Vogel in Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency. Heavily involved in film and television as a choreographer, stuntman and actor, Chau has been heavily involved with a number of parodies organized and arranged by The Hillywood Show, and has played such characters as The Walking Dead’s Glenn Rhea, Supernatural’s Sam Winchester and most recently The Umbrella Academy’s Ben Hargreeves. Chau has recently produced and starred in his own film, Empty By Design, which can be seen at film festivals around the globe. Chau recently joined the CW Network’s Arrowverse for the Crisis on Infinite Earths event in 2019/2020, portraying Ryan Choi, the new Atom. He reprised this role in the five-part season 8 Armageddon storyline on The Flash. Chau also appears on Nancy Drew as Edwin George Chen.
